intro

I survived a stroke on feb 3rd, 2007 and this is my attempt to chronicle that event and everything since that day..

edit:aug 15, 2008 i really did feel that way when i wrote the intro, honest. but way to much time has passed to do this properly. mainly due to my memory failing me. i'll see what i can do.

scooters

well i thought i would be able to maintain this blog.

i like to write and i thought i might be able to share thoughts that could help others in a similiar situation. i just don't like typing one-handed. its a very short list of what i do like doing one handed. i will spare you the details.

lets see what is nuch more difficult with one arm and one leg, as opposed to 2 of each.

showering, driving, typing, walking, or hobbling i guess, in my case, making a sandwich with some kind of spreadable, like peanut butter, tying shoelaces, putting on clothes, getting out of bed, due to moving around, its not so bad if im on the edge, but during sleep i sometimes manage to travel to the center of the bed.

sitting on the toilet. trust me on this, its a balance issue.

my brain is failing me a bit as well. nothing too major. like forgetting where i am going, or why i went somewhere.

i started plasying poker not too long after my hospital stay, online, but couold'nt win fer crap. i couldn't remember what i had done before the stroke to keep my bankroll in the upward direction....last month or two ive been ahead about 20 bucks a day and ive been thinking about a new pc and desk to put in here and just make a job of this online poker. i cant go back to where i was and most likely would not if i could.

i doubt there will be a full recovery anytime in the near future, so i will have to rely on the kindness of our government and whatever small odd amout i can scare up on my own.

i will try to be more diligent with this journal.

peace

I am glad that you are doing as well as you are. It's better than nothing, my friend.

Keep your chin up, and if you need a little scratch to play online, let me know. I can get you a little.

Oh, and you can thank facty for helping me find you.

Take care bud.

not sure what to say except to wish you the best. keep up the writing if you think it helps you. I am sure a lot of people will follow via bloglines, etc, etc..

Saw your blog on TaoPoker and read through. An easy way to put your thoughts in a post without typing is to use software that can transcribe what you are saying. I used Dragon (http://www.nuancestore.com/v2.0-img/operations/scansoft/site/513201/513201_dns-talk.html) as a test and it is a breeze to use.

Good Luck!
